# I can't download videos from my camera. What can I do about it?

I am not able to download videos from my Leica camera at all, or not able to download some of my videos. What can I do about it?

When downloading videos from a Leica camera to Leica FOTOS, some limitations may apply:

-   Not all Leica cameras support video file downloads.
    
-   On older models, video files exceeding a certain size may not be transferable via Leica FOTOS.
    
-   Leica cameras support a wide range of video formats, using various combinations of container formats, codecs, and resolutions. To successfully store a video after downloading, the mobile device must support playback of the format used during recording.
    

## Supported cameras

-   Leica Q3
    
-   Leica SL3
    
-   Leica D-Lux 8
    
-   Leica Q2
    
-   Leica SL2
    

## Supported Filesizes

-   **Leica SL2, Q2, D-Lux 8**: Videos up to 4 GB
    
-   **All other supported models**: No file size limitation
    

## Supported Video Formats

Only a selection of video formats supported by Leica cameras can be played and stored by mobile devices. If a mobile device does not support a specific video format, the file cannot be downloaded through Leica FOTOS or saved to the gallery.

To ensure compatibility, the video format can be adjusted via **Menu > Video Settings** (or **Menu > Video Profiles** on the SL3/SL3-S) before recording.

### Compatible Format Settings by Camera

-   Q2(-M) and SL2(-S)
    
    -   MP4 files up to FullHD resolution
        
    -   MOV files not supported
        
-   Q3 and SL3(-S)
    
    -   All MP4 files supported
        
    -   MOV files: Only FullHD ProRes supported
        
-   D-Lux 8
    
    -   All formats available on the camera are supported
        

**Note**

The list of compatible formats may change with future mobile phone models and operating system updates.
